Local Mentawai Surf Campwith beachfront Bungalows.
Location
Our surf camp is located on Nyang-Nyang Island also known as Masokut Island in Sumatra – Indonesia – the heart of Mentawai. Right in front of the camp is a beautiful white sanded beach where you can paddle out to the legendary left barreling wave Ebay.
Two other surf spots, fun left-hander Beng Bengs and right wedge Pitstop, are just a short walk to each side away. On the other side of the island you will find one of the worlds best right-hander barrels Bankvaults and always-working right wave Nipussi. Our boats can bring you to all the surf spots of the northern Mentawai area known as Playgrounds.
Resort
We have three wooden bungalows and a big house with private rooms and a bar built by Papa Malvin and the family in traditional Mentawai craftsmanship with crystal clear water waiting in front of the doorstep. Just outside of the rooms you will find our two western style toilets and two fresh water showers. In the back of our campus is our kitchen where Mama Veronika will provide you three delicious meals a day.
Behind the camp are the families fishing facilities and sometimes you can see the catch of the day. If you are lucky, you will get some fresh caught fish for your next meal (there is no fresher than that).
Rooms
Our wooden bungalows fulfill all basic needs. Each one is equipped with fans, mosquito nets, plugs and has 4 beds. Each of the bungalows has its own patio where you can hang out in a hammock and enjoy a fresh coconut or a cold beer. Our rooms are usually booked as shared dorms but can be booked as private rooms upon request.
We just finish to biuld a bigger commun area and new two-bed/double bed rooms perferct for couples or two friends. They are available for bookings under request. Get in early and book your private room.
